How to Make Pizza Your Kids Won’t Eat.

Note: She did eventually eat, and love, it. But the first time I made it she wrinkled up her little nose and said, “Mommy. This isn’t pizza.”

I am not a homemade pizza kind of person. At all. Dominos exists for a reason. But a few weeks ago I tried real homemade pizza, like the dough and everything, and while there were some kinks to work out (I have a tendency to not read recipes the whole way through because oh so much work so I never really know how much of stuff- like yeast!- I need), last night’s reprise was a resounding hit.

Quick Easy Pizza Dough

2 cups flour

1 tbsp yeast

1/4 tsp garlic salt

1 tbsp sugar

2/3 cup warm water

Mix one cup of the flour with all the other ingredients. Gradually add second cup while forming a ball. Cover and let rise for 10-15 minutes (results will not be drastic). Top with sauce and favorite pizza toppings and bake for 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees.

I tripled the recipe, and it filled an 18×18 jelly roll pan. That gives us a ton of leftovers and space for Squeaks to pick her toppings.

Even Buddy liked it! At least, he liked playing with the dough until he accidentally got some in his mouth and then God help us all.

The aversion is to pictures, not the dinner.
